I had a fantastic stay at the Amanek. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the JR station, making it super convenient. My room was spacious and well arranged, with the toilet and bathroom separated for added comfort. The rooftop pool and jacuzzi had stunning views, and I thoroughly enjoyed the public bath, complete with a sauna. The staff were friendly, and I loved the complimentary drinks in the lobby.

The motion-sensor lights in the bathroom are super annoying. At night, they blind you when you just want to sneak in without waking up. Plus, even the master switch can't turn them off. Just too techy for a simple hotel stay!

Great-sized and fantastic room plus central heating, a private safe, and multi-channel TV. Well-equipped bathroom with a tub. Location not far from many eateries and shopping street, and the centre.
Beds were hard.

The family room we booked was spacious, accommodating four of us comfortably. We loved the traditional tatami area and the added luxury of a private bath in our room. Having a convenience store just a short walk away was a great added bonus for our snacks and essentials. One of my highlights was the rooftop pool, offering amazing views of the city and mountains, complemented by an inviting jacuzzi with an ocean view. The hotel is relatively new, making everything feel clean and elegant. I also appreciated the free-flowing welcome drinks available until late, and the breakfast was a nice semi-buffet spread that catered to a range of tastes. Plus, the tablet feature in the room was convenient for checking on public area congestion and laundry status!
Elevators at one end.

spacious room, but amenities could improve
The room was impressively clean, offering ample space for both of our large suitcases. The high-tech features added a modern touch. We loved the complimentary yukata, which enhanced our experience of the local culture. My partner particularly enjoyed the heated toilet, providing unexpected luxury.
The hot springs could have used better temperature management.

Just a reliable pick for a fleeting pause in Beppu with great value for money. The onsen was relaxing enough to wind down after a long day. Bring your own shower cap as there's none provided.

We loved the spacious room and comfy bed, along with the fantastic onsen facilities where we chose our yukata. The rooftop pool was a highlight for the family, and having access to an all-you-can-drink lounge was a plus.

missingWrote a review on 23 Octparking hassle
Parking is a hassle. No on-site facilities mean a confusing search for a lot nearby. The hot bath area can feel overcrowded and noisy, detracting from relaxation time. Room cleanliness leaves much to be desired, with dust gathered in various places. Lack of essential items like shower caps is inconvenient, especially when dealing with their unusual yukata policy that requires you to fetch parts at the front desk. Breakfast options aren't up to par, requiring a cumbersome tray to carry food, which can feel too restrictive and the price might send your wallet into shock.

Our Superior King Room was super spacious and sparkling clean! Really loved the high-tech amenities and the free yukata was a nice touch. The toilet and ofuro were great, but I wish the sauna water was a bit warmer. The lobby was inviting, and the staff was awesome, especially the two Nepalese guys at reception.

The location is fantastic, only about a 3-minute walk from the station. The room was spacious and clean, and I particularly enjoyed the hot springs bath, both comfortable and offered fine views. The rooftop sauna on top of the hotel was a unique feature that enhanced my overall experience.
